Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what we need to run the product. We never sell your data. We never show ads. You can delete everything by emailing us.

1. Who we are

Provision (“Provision,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the financial modeling application available at provisionmoney.com. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about what we collect and why.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

Email address (when you save a plan or subscribe to the digest)
Financial inputs you enter into scenarios (income, expenses, savings, debt)
Feedback and messages you send us

Information collected automatically:

Usage analytics via Posthog (pages visited, features used, scenario types — no raw financial data)
Session data stored in your browser's local storage (stays on your device)
Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL)

What we do NOT collect:

Bank account credentials or transaction data (Plaid connection is optional and coming soon)
Social Security numbers, tax returns, or government IDs
Payment information (handled by Stripe, not stored by us)

3. How we use your information

To provide and improve the Provision service
To send your weekly digest (only if you opted in)
To respond to your support requests
To understand how people use the product so we can improve it
To send important service updates (not marketing, unless you opted in)

4. How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified database provider. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Financial inputs you enter without creating an account are stored only in your browser's local storage and are never transmitted to our servers unless you choose to save your plan.

We use Anthropic's Claude API to power the Co-Pilot feature. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their data practices. Per Anthropic's API terms, your data is not used to train their models.

5. Data sharing

We never sell your data. We share data only with:

Supabase — database and authentication
Anthropic — AI features (Co-Pilot)
Resend — transactional email delivery
Posthog — product analytics (anonymized)
Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
Law enforcement — only when legally required

6. Your rights

Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
Deletion: Request complete deletion of your account and data
Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
Opt-out: Unsubscribe from any email at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@provisionmoney.com with the subject line matching your request. We respond within 5 business days.

7. Cookies

We use minimal cookies required for authentication (session tokens) and analytics (Posthog). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly.

8. Children's privacy

Provision is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this policy. Continued use of Provision after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
